Job Summary:

The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is the data collection and dissemination arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. NASS gathers and publishes a vast array of information on every facet of U.S. agriculture, including production, economics, demographics, and the environment. The incumbent serves as a Telephone Interviewer of the Call Center Group of the National Operations Center (NOC) which has a modern, state-of-the-art, refurbished Call Center with all new equipment and work stations. The NOC is a large, centralized operations center that consolidates data collection, sampling frame maintenance and interviewer training for the Agency. Tour of Duty -All interviewer positions are on intermittent work schedules with work scheduled primarily in the evening (3pm to 10pm). Applicants are not required to work the entire shift but should be available to work at least 4 hours during the shift. Work shifts will include weekday evenings and Saturdays and applicants are expected to be willing and able to work these shifts periodically. Weekly hours are solely based on the needs of the organization. All hours worked are recorded as regular time. Hours worked beyond 8 hours in a day will be paid as overtime. Holiday work is paid in the same manner. There are no holidays off with pay and no premium pay for Sunday or night work. Intermittent employees do not accrue annual or sick leave nor are they eligible for health benefits, life insurance or retirement. Relocation expenses will not be authorized.
